Pawn to Player is a space dedicated to providing critical analysis into Sansa Stark’s character and development in the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R.R. Martin. We also look closely at other characters who play central roles in her storyline, such as Cersei Lannister, Sandor Clegane, Petyr Baelish, Tyrion Lannister, and the Stark family members. Pawn to Player was started as a reread project at the Westeros.org forum, followed by the widely-known Rethinking threads where insight gleaned via the rereads was thoroughly analysed, refined, and developed by a number of collaborators. This site is run by the founder of the PTP threads, Brashcandy (Brashcandie) and co-host Milady of York (Marquise).

Since 2025, Pawn to Player is also a book review site with a subsidiary section dedicated to fairy tale and folklore literature, interviews, analyses, and awards, that you can check out under the “A Tale Transformed” brand.
